First Steps in (Live) Online Blackjack

BlackjackAfter writing about slots for some time, I thought I’d shake things up and promote this blog to blackjack. Why did I say “promote”? What was I thinking? Am I picking on slots? Now, hold your horses! When I used the verb “promote,” I didn’t mean to demote slots. It’s just that slots don’t require much thought or anything. You sit tight, press spin and wait for Lady Luck to reward your patience and perseverance by unleashing a massive jackpot on your humble self.

Blackjack, on the other hand, is a whole different story. It isn’t about sitting around waiting for a windfall, though you could do that at live dealer games, where you can bet behind someone sitting at the table. You wouldn’t have to move a muscle, let alone consider whether you should hit, stand or double down because that mug would be doing all the work for you.

Anyway, blackjack is meant to be played by rational beings because, though there’s some chance involved, analysing the game and having a few strategy charts up your sleeve can make it or break it. So to say, being attentive pays off. That is not to say that you can’t still go down and throw your tuition money down the drain in the matter of minutes. Because whenever there’s even 1% chance that you might lose, there are those darn moments where the worst case scenario becomes reality.

No one can guarantee you’d win every time, no matter how proficient they are in the language of casino games or the dialect of cards. Yet, reading about the rules and strategies of blackjack and the best online casinos to play it at would definitely help. Before my first attempt at playing blackjack online a few weeks ago, I skimmed a few dozens of sites and found quite a number of them helpful. I particularly liked this informative website because it gets to the heart of the matter without boring me to death with too many details. It just goes right to the point. Besides, it highlights the profitable side of playing this awesome card game.

So, how did my first few games of blackjack go? I actually started playing against a live dealer as that obviously comes closer to playing at a land-based casino. I couldn’t help but appreciate the anonymity, though. I could do whatever I wanted while playing and nobody at the table knew who I was. On the other hand, I could get all the interaction with the dealer I wanted. There’s this cute chat box if you like chitchat. Not all casinos offer it and I could see why soon enough. You see, some people abuse it by using inappropriate language or making indecent proposals to the dealers. I’ve seen that happen at the Blackjack Party table by Evolution Gaming. C’mon, if I wanted to learn Russian swear words, I’d find a better place to do it. I’ll be playing RNG games next.
